Sintered Mullite

Product Description

Sintered Mullite is produced by high-temperature sintering of selected alumina-rich raw materials. It features a stable mullite crystal structure, low impurity content, high refractory temperature, and excellent resistance to thermal shock, chemical corrosion, and mechanical abrasion.

Thanks to its balanced expansion performance and high load-bearing capacity under high temperatures, sintered mullite has become one of the most preferred raw materials for manufacturing high-performance refractories and kiln linings.

Key Advantages

  • Excellent thermal shock resistance
  • High refractoriness and softening temperature under load
  • Low creep rate at elevated temperatures
  • Outstanding resistance to slag and alkali corrosion
  • High mechanical strength and abrasion resistance
  • Stable crystal phase and uniform grain structure

Typical Applications

  • Refractory bricks and shaped products
  • Castables and monolithic refractories
  • Kiln furniture, burner blocks, checker bricks
  • Steel ladle and tundish linings
  • Petrochemical furnace refractories
  • Cement rotary kilns
  • Glass and ceramics industry
  • Foundry coatings and molds
