Silicon Carbide

(SiC)

Product Description

Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a high-performance material with excellent thermal conductivity, high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and abrasion resistance. It is widely used in refractory materials, metallurgical deoxidizers, abrasives, and ceramic components.

Key Properties

  • Excellent thermal conductivity
  • High-temperature strength and stability
  • Superior oxidation resistance
  • Outstanding abrasion and wear resistance
  • Chemical inertness and corrosion resistance
  • High hardness (9.5 Mohs scale)

Applications

1. Refractory Industry

For making high-temperature resistant bricks, kiln furniture, and crucibles.

2. Metallurgy

As a deoxidizer and additive for steel and non-ferrous alloys.

3. Abrasives

For grinding, polishing, and sandblasting applications.

4. Ceramics

For producing wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant components.
